The programme consists of a CL e-learning package, three interactive sessions and an optional assessment day.
Each session consists of two parts. In the first part of the session, we will focus on essential trainer skills and knowledge. In the second part of each session, participants will be given the opportunity to apply the skills they have learnt through delivering activities from Manchester Met’s portfolio of CL training material, this is followed by peer feedback.
The assessment day:
Participants have the option to attend an assessment day in which they are tasked to pick one of the activities from Manchester Met’s portfolio of CL training material and adapt this to their main audience. Participants will be assessed on their ability to deliver the material and it will also provide participants with an opportunity to see how their altered activities will work in practice.
Participants will be asked to complete some tasks outside of the sessions, this includes:
Please note that although the train-the-trainer programme contains a CL element (and there will be plenty of opportunities to discuss a range of themes related to climate change in the sessions), the focus on this course is on trainer skills rather than climate change knowledge.
If you have a number of trainers in your organisation, please get in touch if you are interested in a bespoke train-the-trainer programme.
